ASIO output
« on: May 17, 2006, 12:59:12 pm »

I have heard that Media Player no longer supports ASIO output.  Is this true?

I heard it from someone that works at Microsoft. They said  that J River no longer supports ASIO even if it says it does.  They dumped the interface because of USB Streaming problems.  It would be nice if someone from JRiver would comment.  I think its a great program.

On your version of MC, you can see for yourself.

Player
Playback Option
Playback Option
Under Output Mode,  Use the drop down.    The bottom one should say ASIO

Official JRiver response.

ASIO works fine.  Drivers can sometimes break.  People have reported good luck with ASIO4ALL (sp?).

Who was it at Microsoft?  What level?

I'm not sure what you mean by "they dumped the interface".  MS doesn't use anything of ours.  You also mention "Media Player".  Did you mean Windows Media Player?

Thanks for the info Jim.  As I stated before, I really like your program.  I'm glad that this rumor has been corrected. As for who stated this to me-the heck with it.  You folks know your program.
