Which field in APE results in "work" in MP3
« on: July 16, 2006, 12:16:09 pm »

I have a lot of classical music which besides a "title" often includes a "work" or oeuvre or "Werk (in German)". When I convert an APE file into MP3 to play on my Mac with iTunes, the "work" field is always empty.

Example: Work: "Fifth Symphonyof Beethoven", Titel is "1. Allegro"

I wonder which field in MC corresponds to this "work" field in MP3/iTunes?

There is a link to a thread on tagging classical music in the FAQhere.  You may find something useful:

Thanks Jim. However, although the thread is interesting, I still don't know which MC field corresponds to "work" in iTunes. Could it be that there is no field at all in MC that corresponds to iTunes' work?

If you can find out the name of the field, you can add it to MC as a "custom field".  Please see this thread for a few clues:
