To protect the YADB:

If viewing a CD, MJ brings Up A List of songs if i go and edit the list of songs i can change the album name to correct it, but the Album name for all tracks on the Album is ot changed, and also the album name in the Tree (Left Side Of MJ) is not changed.

i have made about 10 mistakes my self by changing the album name and submiting with the wrong album name in the tree, then i go back and correct the album name in the tree and resubmit to YADB.

MJ needs to make sure if i change the album name in the tree or on one of the files in the list that all are changed to that album name.

I noticed when riping "Sounds Of The Seventies - 1973"

that when MJ went to get the cover art it said geting cover art for

"Paul Simon - Sounds Of The Seventies"

Paul Simon is the first artist on the cd but is no way the only one on there (there is 19 artists on it)

should it not sence if there is more than one artist, and then get the Cover Art For the other artists Also?

MJ still links cover images to an external file in the audio file's directory even if the cover image is contained in the ID3 tag (do I need to report this again for every new version or are you working on this issue?)

I can't duplicate this.  Are you using ID3V2 tags?  If not, MJ doesn't store images inside the file.

Can you start a separate thread?  Please provide step by step instructions.

Yes, it will help if you re-report a bug when it isn't fixed.  Usually if it isn't fixed, it means we can't duplicate it.

Sometimes when I insert a CD (a new one that MJ has not seen yet) the files isting is duplicated.

where the CD may have 10 files, MJ now lists 20 files.

this is when Using YADB as a data source.

i have been trying to figure out how to reproduce it but have not been able to finger it out. out of 20 CD-s 3-4 of them duplicated the list.

one one other cd duplicated the last 2 songs on the cd.

After Riping A CD, MJ Tells Me Completed, I Did Not Click OK, I Removed And Incerted A new Cd. Once The New CD Was In I Clicked Ok

The Picture Shows The Orginal CD And Then the last 6 files of the new CD.

Old CD 12 Tracks
New CD 18 Tracks

Using YADB

you can see in the Tree there is no CD name

When I Updated From YADB "Sounds Of the Seventies" i corrected the Year And Genre, Then ReSubmited To YADB. Now In The YADB The Sounds Of The Seventies Is Now Listed As "Marvin Gaye/Marvin Gaye" since when Submiting It used the first Artist on the cd, with No Real CD Name.

As We Can See This Really Trashes The YADB Database with wrong data.

you can see in the Tree there is no CD name

both were recreated by incerting a new cd before i Hit Ok after MJ told me that the rip was done.

Using Update from database does not correct this. only shuting down MJ and rebooting allows the Tree to fill up with the correct Album name.

Hi all, I'm having a problem with mjextman.exe. I don't doubt that it is my own fault but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have a playlist called t, simply the letter t in lowercase. THis playlists contains the tracks of Rush's 2112 album, 6 tracks.

If I stop the music and delete everything in playing now and then execute the following command (with or without the TREEPATH=Playlist\t being quoted) my entire music collection is enqueued. Why?

C:\Documents and Settings\Ram\Desktop\temp>"c:\program files\j river\media jukebox\mjextman.exe" /play "TREEPATH=Playlists\t"

If I use this command (again with or without the quoting of the TREEPATH NV parameter) instead I get a "playlist is empty" dialog box in MJ.

C:\Documents and Settings\Ram\Desktop\temp>"c:\program files\j river\media jukebox\mjextman.exe" /play "TREEPATH=\Playlists\t"

What am I doing wrong? I'm using 8.0.370 on a relatively patched win2k box. Note also that if instead of putting 't' at the end I put some string that doesn't exist I get the same behavior, enqueueing the entire music library.

Any ideas?

It's /Play not /play.

The commands are case sensitive although they probably shouldn't be.

Greetings - Sad news from me because it keeps crashing & hanging up my system. All I am doing is simply playing .APE files from my Media Library. I was having trouble with previous versions, so I uninstalled, rebooted & installed 8.0.370 & hoped that would fix things but not to be.

The error messages are e.g.

SYMTRAY caused an invalid page fault in module SYMTRAY.EXE at 017f:004023aa

... once you click OK, then either one or both of the following error messages pops up ...

Error loading EXPLORER.EXE you must reinstall WINDOWS

OR

MEDIA JUKEBOX caused an invalid page fault in module MEDIAJUKEBOX.EXE at 017f:00574c4e.

Other error messages that have popped up are:

Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module SYMTRHK.DLL at 017f:011f12ad

then

Error loading EXPLORER.EXE you must reinstall WINDOWS

also

Media Jukebox caused a stack fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:000095ef

Rusty - the sym- stuff is Symantec/Norton. Obviously if this is antivirus or firewall, you do not want to uninstall or turn that stuff off forever. However it might be worth keeping them off for a reboot or two, and see if you still have the same problems with MJ. A mention of which of their products you have installed, along with their versions, might help the MJ folks. A scan of Syamntec's support section might be in order as well.

As a sidenote, I have heard seemingly endless reports of crashes and conflicts relating specifically to Norton/Symantec products over the past 5 years. My system has been a lot more stable since moving to other apps.

Here is another type of bug which occurs again when just playing songs from the Media Library causing complete computer lock up. I haven't had time to do anything else with MJ since I downloaded it yesterday.

I've just played a few songs (getting ready to burn a disc - that'll be fun) or I've left the computer idle for a while & come back to continue playing songs & as you highlight the next song to play nothing happens. It's like it's thinking about it. You can still move the mouse around & the little mini song detail screens will pop up, but as you get frustrated & try to click out of the program it again takes a lot of time & if it closes down & you find yourself back at your main screen, every program you try to open brings up the same error message = NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO OPEN THIS PROGRAM etc. Then all you can do is press the reset button on the tower. It wasn't this bad with most of the other builds?

Another anomally ... I'd just customised the tool bar as well adding certain icons. Closed MJ down & went back in only to find that none of the tool bar changes I'd made were there anymore ... it was back to standard as issued.

Cheers Rusty.

Rusty,
I don't think the problems you're having are MJ.  It's stable for most people now.  It's your OS or hardware.

Yet another - Was just using CD Labeller & the Editor ... had to get out of Editor to go back & tick that I wanted a fold over inner cover to the front cover & I get an error message that it can't open the CD labeller .exe & even when I close MJ down then re-open it still won't let me use the CD Labeller anymore ... So now I'll have to re-boot AGAIN!

I think I know what you're gonna say .... We can't duplicate any of this & it must be my machine!!!! ... Well all I can do is hope that I'm wrong.

Cheers Rusty

So this morning as I was leaving the house for breakfast I realized I needed to get my shades out of my car. I was promptly corrected by my woman who pointed out that they were in my hand :)

I believe this is a bug, may be me, but i think its a bug, After clickling and checking Disable Browser Integration in the download manager, the "save with download manager" option still remains in the contesxt menu on my browser. WHen i go back into the Download Manager and check the settings menu, the check has been removed from beside "disable browser integration". Repeated process multiple times, same results.

Nikolay,
I've changed the path from the default JRiver dir to another drive that I keep my music on.  The path is D:\Multimedia\Music\Cover Art\ .  I get cover art from the internet and it MJ downloads it to the default JRiver dir for cover art (How do I know this?  It says "Linked to external image C:\Program Files\JRiver\..etc and also I looked in the dir itself and the d-l'd cover art was in the default cogver art dir instead of the one specified.  One more thing...  When I hit the button to select another cover art directory, it will only let me select a file, not a dir.  This is NOT the dialogue that I expect when it's obvious I'm picking a dir, not a file.  Can you take a look at that too?  Thanks Nikolay!!

Nikolay,
Yes.  I even tried selecting the "File Types" drop down box, but it would only let me select graphics files.  I'll install 372 and see if that corrects the problem.  If not, I'll uninstall and re-install.  Thanks Nikolay!
