Author Topic: How to tell which songs are in Library and which aren't (no more gold/blue icon)  (Read 16809 times)

One thing that is not mentioned in thread yet is the missing ability to quickly distinguish different media types in a Details view that contains imported music and image files (sometimes music videos too). In use all media views a lot. I have tagged my album related images and videos with the same artist, album and year tags as the music files have.

Same here....

I agree that icons showing the difference between file types are very helpful (it's much easier to glance through a database this way than having to use the File Type coumn itself to distinguish between basics of image/video/music/document)... and having a color (blue/gold) indicate whether or not a file has been imported is also nice.....

I agree.

I think that having a different icon for each file type would just get "messy" and wouldn't really serve the purpose that the icon is there for, which is to quickly tell what "media" type it is (i.e. audio, video, etc.)  There are just too many different file types to have different icons for all of them, and (as noted above) you can always just insert the "Filetype" column rignt next to the icon column to show you exactly what the file type is.
