I noticed that the media center.exe process is never terminated when the media center application is properly exited using file/exit. Anyone have the same problem?

Only when I'm using other external applications that hook into Media Center.

Are you using any MC plugins? Or stuff like NetRemote?

you may need to let it continue to run for a bit, when MC closes it does do some closing functions, like saving tags.

look under plug-ins for the servers, if they are on you can turn them off

but mc does stay running for a short time also to save the database too

In plug-in manager, under interface, I see TiVo Server, Library Server, and UPnP Server.  Is this what you are talking about?  If so, I’m still not sure what they do.  I assume there must be some service hosted on a remote server that that I’m connecting to.

I also have a handful of other plug-ins in this section, but all of those I installed myself so I know what they do (of course your plug-ins are there).

I doubt i have anything hook to it besides the  DG Playing Now Updater software. Would this be the cause?

Turning off the servers may not keep Media Server from starting.  It should.  I'm just not sure.

Perhaps Media Server is being run by Windows startup.  If it isn't, a reboot would work.
