« on: October 08, 2006, 09:54:13 am »

I was looking to Buy A New TV Tuner With FM\AM Would Be Nice

The Problem Is When I Buy My New Computer The PCI Slots Will Be Full, Is There A USB TV Tuner That Also Works With MC11, MC12?

Hauppage WinTV PVR USB2 (there might be newer models, mine is about 2 years old)

Works very well, both wit MC11 and MC12!

It's a matter of preference I guess, but Pinnacle has USB TV thingies too. Not sure how they work with MC though, you will have to ask around.

ATI TV Wonder USB - cheap
Hauppauge WinTV USB - cheap

Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB - good analog TV and FM radio. MC supports TV only.

Divco FusionHDTV 5 USB Gold - HDTV and analog TV. No FM radio. It even works on unencrypted digital cable TV (not supported in MC).

I Looked at some of them and currently the ones i looked at does not state yet that they do or do not work on Vista

Code: [Select]
System Requirements

System requirements: Pentium® III processor 733MHz or faster, 128MB RAM and 10GB disk drive minimum recommended
Microsoft® Windows® XP/98SE/Me/2000
Available USB 2.0 or 1.1 port (works faster on USB 2.0)
Sound card
Optional: CD-RW or DVD writer for burning your videos or TV shows onto Video CD, S-Video CD or DVD

Some Also State They Work On Windows XP Media Center Version (I Guess That Does Not Work On Windows XP)

Hopefully Vista will have backward compatibility.

I can be wrong, but my intuition says the opposite. It seems a device must pass some additional requirement for Media Center Edition.
