12.0.112 (11/13/06)

1. Fixed: Find albums in gallery uploader updates the list with "Title: %s  (Album: %s)"
2. Changed: Removed Media Jukebox 8 library upgrader. ( it's best to reimport when coming from MJ 8 )
3. Changed: Right-click option on Playlists in the tree "Create Stock Smartlists" will also (re)create Top Hits and Recently Played if they were deleted.
4. Fixed: Page Up / Page Down work more logically in Theater View.
5. Changed: Main navigation tree uses tree-style keyboard navigation. (instead of list-style navigation proposed in build 111)
6. Fixed: Mouse-wheeling over the volume slider with the mouse perfectly still and playback stopped would leave "Volume xx%" stuck in the player area.
7. Fixed: iPod database corruption introduced in build 12.0.111.
8. Changed: Stock smartlists (like Top Hits and Recently Played) work correctly after being renamed or moved. (pick Tree > Right-Click > Playlists > Create Stock Smartlists to recreate missing playlists)
9. Changed: When rotating an image that's playing using the right-click menu or toolbar button, the playback display now is updated immediately.
10. Fixed: Command line TreePath=... didn't work properly when firing while MC wasn't running.
11. Fixed: IPTC 'Date Created' Tag gets properly imported (mapped to Date field).
12. Changed: Ctrl+Right Arrow / Ctrl+Left Arrow change playback rate (fast forward/rewind) in DX video player, just as in DVD and TV.

12.0.111 (11/10/06)

1. Changed: Display uses a black background color when in display view, theater view, or detached mode. (still uses skin color when in Standard or Mini View)
2. Changed: When scheduling a task, the start time is disabled when the "Now" checkbox is marked.
3. Changed: Tree keyboard navigation up / down caps at the ends. (instead of selecting none when pressing up at the top)
4. Fixed: Image and Video web media views wouldn't properly keep their tree selection.
5. Changed: Revised how up, down, left, and right navigate the tree to be more logical. (use space bar to toggle expansion)
6. Changed: Theater View list menus stretch across the entire item again. (instead of stopping in some cases)
7. Changed: Theater View webpage views don't show "Display View" and "Play All" buttons.
8. Changed: Opening the Burn or Handheld action window no longer sometimes jumps to "Audio". (was done to make "Drop files here" obvious, but jump logic was too elaborate to be helpful)
9. Fixed: Missing CDA files queued for burning to an audio CD wouldn't be properly handled. (burning would start and fail in the middle)
10. Changed: After cancelling a burn, the sequence and disc number columns wouldn't disappear from the CD view.
11. Changed: Library Server adds a custom HTTP server.
12. Fixed: The CD Labeler could crash when dealing with an album name that had an invalid file system character in it.

12.0.110 (11/9/06)

1. Changed: When ejecting a CD during YADB data entry, another CD information entry boxes could appear at the same time.
2. Changed: When viewing a CD, the UI won't stop painting if the YADB lookup / submit dialog boxes are shown.
3. Changed: Revised how shortcut creation is handled during an upgrade install when choosing "Custom". (so that if you check a box to create a shortcut, it always will)
4. Fixed: Folder watching didn't nicely handle when a folder would fail to watch. (because it was missing, etc.)
5. Changed: Added logging to Auto-Import folder watching to assist with finding problems.
6. Fixed: Some PocketPC's did not reliably show up when connecting while Media Center was running.

17. NEW: Added convert to Jpeg option for gallery upload.

12.0.109 (11.8.06)

1. Fixed: The UPnP Server was not broadcasting on multiple interfaces.
2. NEW: "Start Now" checkbox added to Schedule Task dialog box.
3. Fixed: One minute duration scheduled events will always record at least a full minute (if "Start Now" checkbox is checked).
4. Optimized: Faster program startup in most cases.
5. Fixed: Clicking on "Podcasts" in the first few seconds the program was running could cause a crash. (introduced in 108)
6. Changed: Drag-n-drop uses the word "Analyzing" instead of "Importing" to avoid confusion.
7. Optimized: Improved string engine loading time, resulting in faster program startup.
8. Fixed: Purchase / upgrade images could appear slightly blurry.
9. Optimized: When double-clicking an image in Explorer, fullscreen playback will start much faster.
10. New: Additional status messages for gallery upload.
11. New: Picklist option for finding gallery albums.
12. Fixed: The DSM-520 UPnP Device now works.
13. Fixed: Setting the Media Center shortcut to "Minimized" would cause the program to not be able to be restored.
14. Changed: DCRaw's priority set to Idle priority when thumbnailing.
15. Changed: The "Album Gain" for a file with no album is now the same as the track gain for that file. (so it's treated like an album of one)

12.0.108 (11/07/06)

1. Fixed: Filenames with .'s in them would bozo the handheld cache.
2. Fixed: Handheld cache prune no longer prunes with extreme prejudice.
3. Optimized: Faster load times due to internal architecture updates.

Now the Recently Imported button is broken.  The Recently Imported playlist is in the playlists root and the tree button works.  I used the right-click option to "Create Stock Smartlists" anyway but the toolbar button still doesn't work.  The Recently Played button also didn't work immediately after installing this build.  I restored my library and then reinstalled this build.  That resolved the issue with Recently Played but not with Recently Imported.

I finally got around to working on my HTPC again, and the Tivo errors are still cropping up. I get a no response at the Tivo/TV end of things and a "Unknown request" in the Tivo Server window section. Here is a snip from the current log, and the complete log from the first run after upgrading to 12.0.112. nothing has changed on either of my two Tivos (they are unplgged from the phone lines so no updates or anything else changing on their end) Would really like to help get this bug squashed. Worked so good in v.11. Thanks.

BUGS:

1)  .log files still cannot be opened over Media Server.

2)  Art is still not working for aa (Audible) files.  Art definitely USED to work for the same files in MC11, and I USED to be able to see this artwork when playing these files on my iPod.  Now, I only get the default MC image for ALL aa files on the iPod.

I have a view scheme which shows tracks by file type.

For each file type it shows each different bitrate.

There are some really weird bitrates there, which don't seem to indicate reality...

For example, a track shown under bitrate of 85, when played, shows variable bitrate up to 320Kbps in the playing bar at the top.

BUG:

When using MC12 to trasfer songs to an iPod, playback on the iPod cuts off either the very end or the very beginning of songs.  This is not noticable on songs that have some padding at the beginning and/or end, but it is noticable with gapless playback, where you hear a small "jump" at the transition.

The last response said it might be a "while" before this was addressed, but I fear that this issue is not being considered as all that important given that it was first reported a month ago.  This is, in my use of MC, NOT a small issue.  It's VERY annoying to lose the last bit of a song on albums that have no gaps between songs.  I hope that this issue isn't "marginalized" given that iPod playback is quite important to me.

I am seeing weirdness with the playback of m4a files. I have the combined community codec pack installed. When i start MC and play an m4a song the first time, it plays with the quicktime engine. I have to go into the playback options and change it to use the haali media splitter and then restart MC before i can see the graphic visualisation again. This happens repeatedly and sometimes even after changing the settings and seeing the file playback through directshow, when i play it again later (withput closing MC) its back to using quicktime.

Did you go to Tools --> Options --> Playback --> DirectShow Playback Options --> DirectShow Filters and check the box next to m4a?

It seems that the program was having hard time building a proper DirectShow graph fast enough. MC falls back to Quicktime when it determines (occationally falsely) that a DirectShow graph can not be built.

Try different combinations of Source/decoder filters.

Is MP4Splitter installed with CCCP? I found it working better than Haali Media Splitter when playing m4a files. Try using it instead of Haali.

Is MP4Splitter installed with CCCP? I found it working better than Haali Media Splitter when playing m4a files. Try using it instead of Haali.

It is not, but you can certainly install it manually and register it as the default splitter for MP4.  I personally haven't had much trouble with Haali since I updated to the newest Beta build of CCCP (and turned the error suppression on).  YMMV...

Park, if you want to try to use MP4Splitter to handle MP4 content instead of Haali, you can download it here:

Lastly, you'll need to select it as your splitter for MP4 and M4A content.  You can do this from with MC12 using the DirectShow Playback options.  Just ask in a separate thread if you need help.

Alt-1, Alt-2, etc. hotkeys don't work after you press Ctrl-F.  But, Alt-Left-Arrow (back) does work.

Alt can be used for entering international characters, so Alt+[...] aren't translated in data entry controls.
