Me too actually!!  I never actually realized until now that you could click on the New icon to get to the first new post.  Too bad, would be a cool feature!

It's been a cool feature that I'm gonna miss very much if pulled back.
WIndows XP with IE 7.0 at home. Windows 2000 and IE 6.0 at the office, with the same problem.

Clicking on the icon "new" goes to the top of the thread instead of scrolling to the first unread post here.

Changing the forum theme to "SMF Default Theme" solves this issue. It's still not working with the default theme.

Thanks.  I switched the default to that.  Let's see if anyone notices.   ;D

I just about fell over from shock.  Shouldn't this kind of change be posted in a separate thread and discussed to death?

I was taken aback when I opened the forum just now! I like it. A refreshing change. :)

The default scheme does not contain any links to JRiver's web site.

MC Home, Skins & Plugins, MC Dev Zone, etc are all missing.

EDIT

Also missing:
- the ad banner
- the "delete post" button

Hi Bob,

found the hint for the solution in the "Firefox problem with the forum" thread - I have the wmlbrowser plugin for Firefox installed (http://wmlbrowser.mozdev.org/) and set it to "tell web sites that the browser understands wml content". Switched it back to default (not telling....) and I have the forum back....

Ingo

p.s.: this is the only site that's having problems with this setting....

I'll change the "new" flag as well. It's just a bit of a pain to find that one in the code. I think just about everyone likes it at the front.

I seem to remember this from the last time you all upgraded - good to see we're consistent at least!

Mind if I ask why you upgraded?

I just cleared the session cookies. Try again. If you can't get it to work, try deleting your local cookie (yabb.jriver.com cookie YABBSE151)

I am having the same Session Verification Failed problem with FF V2. I can't post anything. I have deleted all cookies, including the yabb cookie to no avail. I did some Googling and found a fix you could make to your php code:

See this thread: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?PHPSESSID=1e8524c4a2c960b583443530a88c7a92&topic=17508.30

Then this particular post: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=17508.msg187190#msg187190

There were a couple of possibilities in that thread. I just switched to database session tracking. Please report success/failure from the change.

No luck. I cleared cache/cookies/passwords and logged back in. I even get the same error when simply trying to log out. I can read & search with no problem. Just can't post or logout.

No, not using that plugin. Also tried various themes, including the default.

I'm still having this problem. I did notice that when I log in I get a cookie yabb.jriver.com YabbSE151. When I ry to logout and/or post, I get the Session Verifiation error and a second cookie yabb.jriver.com PHPSESSID. Perhaps a variable PHPSESSID is not being set?

See screen shot attached.

yes, no errors.

might be a problem with your config\install.

you may want to un-install and re-install FF and see what happens.

Completely removed FF 2.0.2 and associated deleted directories. Whatever was causing it is now fixed.

The 2 cookies you saw are normal. If the session ID cookie wasn't writable for some reason I suppose it could give the behavior you described. You removed FF 2.0.0.2 and reinstalled and now it works??

Yes it worked after I deleted and reinstalled FF 2.0.2 However, it only worked for a day and now it's back to giving me the same session verification error. No problems in IE6. Just FF 2.0.2 Add before anyone asks, yes, I have admin rights.

I logged in and out with FF since then, no problems

interesting you seem to be the only one having a problem.

maybe some software you are running?

I may be the only one having the problem "here". But, there are several posts all over the net about problems with FF 2.0 and Session Verification errors with various BB software. I am going to load FF 2.0.2 on another PC and try it when I get a chance. Will keep Bob updated.

I like the fact that interact links would always open in a new firefox tab.

Lately, this is only happening if the link is to another interact page. If the link points to somewhere external, it takes me away from interact.
Is something I can control at my end? I don't mean "remember to hold the shift key down when clicking links"

Examples:

I got a new tab in Firefox for both links you gave. I'm using FF 2.0 and on the Tools\Options\Tabs, I have all the checkboxes checked.

thanks for that.
I'll get suited up and go digging around in optionland and see what I can find....

Edit:
Found it in the options for 'tab mix plus'
"open links with a target attrib. in same tab" was checked.

apologies for the blonde interlude :)

while there, I had to have a quick look-see, and found that MC/interact remains as emotive a cocktail today as it did 5 years ago!!!

What version of FF are you using? I don't see this option anywhere.  I just started using FF so it may be an older version so I'm not familiar with it.

I'm using Firefox v2.0.0.2

I also use two indispensible (for me) tab related plugins.
They are tab mix plus: (this was the one that was misconfigured)
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1122/
http://tmp.garyr.net/

and ietab (uses iexplorer engine in a firefox tab for things like windows update, my router config pages and others that don't play nice in Firefox)
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

Ahhh, that explains it as it was a plugin. I use IE Tab and Duplicate Tab. I see Tab Mix Plus also does duplicate tabs so I'll take a look at that as a possible replacement for Duplicate Tab.
