How to quickly show and hide items?

I've been trying for ages to find a way to quickly show and hide files. The Access Control doesn't work for me as I have to log in and delete my excludes, and to hide them again log back in and make them from scratch. Any ideas? Other than this I absolutely love this app.

You did not explain how exactly you would like to hide/show items. Do you mean hiding for your own convenience or making some entries completely unavailable (e.g. for protecting minors)?

View schemes can be configured to show only certain files. For more protection you could use separate libraries and perhaps folder access restrictions on OS level.
