Where does library server get it's information from?
« on: February 05, 2007, 11:42:50 am »

Hi,

as reported in the Main MC12 thread, I have a problem with library server delivering old contents. When I do a GetLibrary with any browser on any of my machines and analyze the resulting Zip-File, it says there that i.e. the curplaylist.jmd is of modification date 31.01.2007. When I now do a file system search for any curplaylist.jmd, it says that there is only a curplaylist.jmd dates of 05.02.2007.
Additionally, all LibraryBackups contain curplaylist.jmd younger than 31.01.2007

Furthermore, sysinternals process explorer does not give any hint on file handles that would eventually result in a reference to such a curplaylist.jmd or a containing archive.

So - where are those secret hidden files that are delivered by means of the library server?

So - the secret is solved: in c:\program files\JR Mediacenter 12 there was a nice MJ Server Library.zip that - for unknown reasons - was not modifieable/deletable for users that had no administrative privileges. Why that - I do not know. Deleting this file with an administrative account lead to library server deploying the correct library.

You are the second to say this, so it's not just you. Can you post your system info please?

Well, my problem is different from Qythyx's insofar, as my remote system perfectly loaded the library, but an old version. This was due to the fact that the MJ Server Library.zip in the Program Folder did not get refreshed / deleted. But here you go:

Operating System is Vista Ultimate.

It wasn't Qythyx, but I don't recall who at the moment.

I thought it might be vista, that gives me some ideas.

Thanks,

Yeah, I'm having problems, but not that one.

FWIW, I'm running XP, not Vista. I should boot into Vista and try things there, though. Then I can have a known problem. :P
