Auto Resume Audio, just like Video?
« on: February 17, 2007, 11:45:23 pm »

I know that Media Center 12 has an auto-resume feature for video (And it's awesome!), but I was wondering if there was a similar feature for audio. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and many of them are pretty long.

Is there a way I can resume them automatically when I open them again?

Thanks!

Imran

edit: Added a period to make things make more sense.

I second this.  What if an option was added to the main MC settings that would allow you to enter a search query by which this remember last position would be remembered.  I'm not interested in remembering where songs left off.  I would use podcast as my search term...mp3 would even work because mp3s are only podcasts...all my music is flac.

Yea definately. Sometimes you might get a funny video in an email, and since MC is my default player, if I watch the video it ceases playback of the album or the playlist I was listening to. It is annoying since the video might only be a couple of seconds.

So maybe if you access a video from an external soucre, then after the video is finished then it can return to whatever audio it was playing before hand. This would be a nice touch.

Windows Media player allows you to go back to a previous playing now list by just pressing backspace.

There is the playlist "Recent Playing Now's" that's supposed to remember your last playlists so that you can then play them again, for example in the case of playing a video. And it's supposed to remember the song that you were at, but that only works sometimes for me.

This is exactly why I use VLC as my standalone default media player.  I only want MC open when I want it open.  Double clicking a media file should not take over MC.  I'll stop MC myself and open multiple instances of VLC without any issue.  This is the best solution to the problem.

But you still have to go back to MC to stop the music or kill the volume so you can watch something on VLC. So you still have to do some juggling around.

Not with dual or triple monitors!  Keep MC on the second.
