In MC, we do send Tivo files to DirectShow playback engine. You will need proper filters to play them.

Does Windows Media Player play the file correctly?
Trying to watch .tivo files with MC12, the files appear to load and the timer clock starts running but no audio or video. What am I doing wrong?
While MC is playing it, right-click on the video window and choose "DirectShow Filters". What filters are listed?
