DVD Database lookup: Help Needed
« on: March 06, 2007, 10:51:37 am »

Hi.

The new YADB DVD database is behaving strangely, and I need some help figuring out why.

The vast majority of successful lookups are for a single DVD. And strangely enough, this is the only DVD in the database where the identification key is associated with two DVDs. I think these might be home-made DVDs, though I've been unable to reproduce the problem here.

I need help: please take a few DVDs, especially home-made ones, and put them in Media Center. If any of them are identified as
either of the two movies:
XMen 3 - The Last Stand
Una Noche En El Museo

please post here and let me know.

Thanks

Which Holy Grail? There are three:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Python_and_the_Holy_Grail#Home_video_editions.2C_locations

There is the DVD, the Special Edition DVD, and the Extraordinarily Deluxe DVD.

I entered the Special Edition.

And thanks for trying, I double-checked and all the DVDs failed the lookup.
There's still only about 300 DVDs in the database.

I've not done this before.
I put in a DVD called "Quest For the Lost Civilisation"
I gave it the title in Media Center by pressing F2 on the DVD,
under drives and devices, then giving it the name as above.
I then right clicked on the DVD and selected "submit to online database"

I then took the same DVD down to my new computer downstairs, and selected
update from online database.
The title however was not retrieved.

Should it have been?

The DVD gave itself the title of DPPRO0401

Yes I had the problem with a disc where several episodes of FUTURE WEAPONs were on it.... it recognized it as XMen 3.

Can you tell me more about this disc? Is it home burned? What program?

The tags weren't properly edited somehow. The disc was inserted to the database as DPPRO0401, not as Quest...

I checked about 20 dvd's all homemade with imgburn or nero 6.6. None of those were recognized.

Included were James Bond movies, Lord of the Rings, Xmen 3, Legends of the Fall, Predator DTS version, Dances with Wolves.

one thing i noticed: i putted one movie in that got regognized by the mc. apparently something i told him a while back. the database lookup said it could not find it. so i pressed submit to the online database it did, but then the name changed in dvd volume (58), or something like that. it was a lars van trier movie.

On the disc were several xvid/divxs, around 10 episodes burned with nero premium 7 reloaded. I think in US it´s called Ultra edition.

On the DVD there is a file VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO

Could you e-mail that to me please? gateley @ jriver.com

Thanks,
