'Assorted' folder when syncing
« on: July 10, 2007, 11:57:05 am »

Hello

I'd like to sync my FLAC files to MP3 format to another folder, so that I can sync them faster to my iPod from there (if they're already in MP3 format). That's why i configured a new 'Handheld' device to named 'MP3-sync', that points to the folder c:\data\MP3-sync\.

Now I can sync my FLACs to this folder (MP3 format), but unfortunatley the ASSORTED albums will not be put in a 'Assorted' folder if syncing. The source FLACs are in such a 'Assorted' folder.

Is it possible to configure MC, that samplers are also put to a 'Asssorted' folder when syncing them to my 'MP3-sync' folder?

Cheers!

Use [Album Artist (auto)]\[Album] for the folder rule.

You may also want to look at the handheld conversion cache feature, which will manage this for you.

Thanks very much for your instant help. It works now!  :)

An additional question:
I've added a Cache Directory (Handheld Conversion Cache), which I would like to remove again. But I can't enter an empty string there. How can I remove the entered directory again?

Thanks again, Matt!

Pick "Type: None" in Options > Handheld > Handheld Conversion Cache and the folder will be ignored.  (so there's no need to empty it)
