Computer reboots when playing DVD
« on: July 30, 2007, 09:36:44 am »

Hello,

I have the latest download of a registered version of Media Center 12.

Over the weekend, I decided to try playing a rented DVD, using an external DVD reader/burner attached to a USB port.  As soon as I hit the play, the computer rebooted!

I thought that this might have been caused by the USB drive. So I ripped my DVD (DVD Fab Decrypter) to the hard disk and tried to open it from there.  Same result. No warning and the computer reboots!

Anyone having the same problem here?

Reboots are hardware issues.  I'd guess a video driver.

Try different settings in Options > Playback > DVD Playback... (renderer, decoders, etc.) if your computer will let you.
