library Query

Is there anyway of removing the numbers on the list header in the library section? It's becoming quite annoying. I hope this is clear enough?

A quick peek at the page source and the image is revealed.....

Those numbers indicate the sort order and I, for one, often find them quite useful.

The absolute easiest way if you're not sure is to browse to your image(s) within MC, select it/them, then use the "Share to Web" option in the action window ;)

I however don't, i've never found the sort order of any use, as it is pretty easy to figure out what the order is when you look at it, and would like it removed, if that's at all possible.

Sort arrows are not configurable.

Those numbers will endear themselves with time, especially if you dabble with smartlists and find yourself wondering why things won't sort the right way.

I find the sort numbers and arrows to be invaluable.  I have my main classical music view scheme sorted by Composer, then Work Name, then Artist and then by Track Number.  That's pretty complicated so having the visual indication of the sort order is very useful.

When I'm looking for problems with recently imported or ripped files, changing the sort order is one of my main tools. Being able to check the sort order is vital when the track list doesn't look as I expect it to look.

I think that the current mechanism has evolved to be a unique combination of power and accessibility.  Most other music player programs don't come close to matching it.  JRiver, don't gut it!

It's a pity for me, but it seems that too many people find it too useful to change, so i can live with that.
