Confusion With Handheld Conversion
« on: September 03, 2007, 03:42:00 pm »

I recently synced my iPod Nano with my 4/5 star songs.  I again used the HQ Portable MP3 setting.  Strangely enough, they fit fine on my Nano!  They never all fit on my iPhone.  I use iTunes to sync them to my iPhone.  Any idea why there is such a difference?  I usually end up with an extra 1-2 GB on my iPhone when syncing it.  Is there a way to see how large files are on the Nano?

So here is some more information.  I'm syncing 1,450 songs right now.  On my 8GB iPod Nano, it shows 7.4 GB capacity and has 1.9 GB free after synchronizing all those songs directly from Media Center.  Now if I create a new device and point it to a folder, C:\iPhone Sync\Music\ , then the total size is well over 7.4 GB...so syncing devices to Nano, the files are smaller than simply syncing to a folder.  If I remember correctly, they were all the same sync quality settings in LAME.
