Failed To Convert
« on: September 29, 2007, 05:11:36 am »

There seems to be a lot of kinks in this version. For some reason, I'm realizing that I cannot convert any mp3 files within J River. This is the message I get, can anyone tell me if they have experienced this?

Failed To convert: Please ensure that your file exist, and are of Supported Formate. (Yes they are all mp3 files or wma files that I want to convert. I get this message for all files. This never happened before. Also is there a way to go back to the previous version of this software? This one seems to have too many problems associated with it.

Either you don't have the MP3 encoder installed or your file list contains something other than mp3 or straight wma.  DRM'ed WMA, for example, or images.

Well the choice is in the options. Yet if that is the case. Where can I get the download for the mp3 encoder? I don't see it on the website. There are only two encoder downloads.

Uninstall the MP3 encoder.  Then try to convert.  MC should download it.

But look carefully at what you're trying to convert.  Convert a single file.

Okay I did that and the uninstall button will not highlight. It looks like it was never installed. I installed the software, but it looks like the mp3 encoder never installed. I wish they had a separate download for this like the other two.

It should be installed automatically when you convert.

Your last option is to uninstall MC, removing the registry entries, and re-install.

Backup your library first.
