The DVD Navigator filter does not support disks that have more than one Title on them.  Any idea how to enable this or change for a filter that does support multi title disks eg:

Title 1
- Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
etc

Title 2
- Chapter 1
- Chapter 2
etc

What you mean by "does not support"? What happens or does not happen? Does it provide any error message? Does the problem occur only with certain discs or with any disc that has more than one title.

I just tried a few DVDs that have several titles and complex menu structures. I didn't have any problems.

The DVD Navigator filter is provided by Microsoft. The filter file is qdvd.dll.
My version is 6.05.2600.2180  (XP SP2 / DirectX 9.0c).

Hi Alex, If I right Click on the disk while it is playing I can select a chapter from within the current title but there is no option to select a different Title on the disk.  This is not a common problem and does not really cause an issue but for example I had an ISF Tech come and calibrate my TV on Friday and several of his calibration disks used mutli Title but we could not select them this way.  You can also not chapter skip from the last chapter in a title to the first of the next.  I'm on Vista and have V2 of qdvd.dll according to RadLight filter manager.

PS - I also had the same problem after merging all my LOTR disks into one big HDD DVD Structure that I first reported a year ago (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=38074.0) and Friday reminded me of it.  It obviously effects very few!

This might help expain it better, the one on the left is the disk in MC12, the one right is the same disk in WMP (or Showtime etc etc)



EDIT: Thinking about it some more it appears that as they use the same DVD Navigator Filter it is that MC12 only displays the Chapters for the current playing title and does not show the other Titles or their chapters.

I see what you mean.

MC does not show the title context menu at all. Some other programs have the titles and the chapters available in the right-click menu.









The first screenshot is from MC. The next two have the title and chapter menus as separate items. The best approach is the nested menu in the last screenshot.

The WMP11 approach is interesting. The titles and chapters are expanded already in its library browser However, when WMP is in the full-screen mode it does not provide a quick context menu for accessing the titles and chapters. The user must either return to the browser view or use the graphical menus in the root of the DVD.
