.dts Files seen as 'data' and won't play?

I know I had .dts audio files working as audio files at one point.  Now they don't play from MC, and when I import them they come in as 'data' files instead of audio.  They play fine when opened with Media Player Classic (using ffdshow as the audio decoder).  How do I get MC12 to see them and play them as audio files?

DTS files requires a source/parser filter and a decoder filter that can handle the format. AC3Filter installation should help.

Reinstalled AC3Filter - no change.
When I try to play a .dts file I get 'Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files.  Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location'.

Have you also installed the "AC3file" source filter? I think it is needed.

Thanks Alex. That likely is the problem. I confused myself in thinking that AC3File is part of AC3Filter installation. That is why I did not mention AC3File.

Thanks - AC3Filter + AC3File fixed the problem.  MC still insists on importing it as 'data' (even though dts is under the audio file types), but that was fixed by manually editing the tags.  Usually don't use the DTS tracks and it had been too long since I had them working to remember how I did it before.

Is there any chance that it's would be fixed? Why not qualify .dts as audio?  I'm just want to separate dts-coded .wav (they should played through AC3filter) from other that playable by MC internal engine. And one more - I cannot see these files using Media Type is Audio filter (ex., Audio view scheme by default uses this filter).
