Replay Gain help file topic

In the help section under file properties/tools/analyze replay gain, it says:
'Use this setting to adjust the volume of your file. Media Jukebox analyzes the file and stores the information in the database and in the file itself, so that playing the file with any player will play it back a (sic) the volume set here.'

Could someone please clarify the 'any player' part in 'so that playing the file with any player will play it back a (sic) the volume set here'.
Many thanks in anticipation.

By "any player", we mean "Media Jukebox"

Seriously though, the Replay Gain info can be stored in the tag, and used by other software.  This is up to the particular plugin (mp3, ogg, ape, etc.) and other players.

Currently, Media Jukebox is the only player with built in Replay Gain. (that I know of)

Take care.
