Will we be seeing Blue-Ray playback support in the near future?

It is becoming near mass distribution very soon I would say. I say this in the sense that MC users tend to be higher end audio / system users so a much higher percentage of MC users will own Blu Ray players. It must be added, right? Can it?

I read somewhere that the FFMpeg folks are working on a decoder? Anyone?

Wait just a moment. If you buy any standard DVD playback package that includes Blu Ray support can't MC use its decoder just as it does with DVDs?

MC sees a Blueray drive with a Blueray disc as unavailable or no media.

I don't plan to buy a Blu Ray computer drive for quite a while. We bought our first Blu Ray player only a week ago. The Denon DVD-2500BTCI transport. In a few weeks when our theater is done I'll get to hook it up. I ordered ~10 Blu Ray discs to get us started--many of which focus on high quality 5.1 audio (concerts).
Addition: although I do have some 1080p content from our camcorder I will want to play on our HD sets. But I can just play it on the computer end...if it can keep up with the resolution.
