After a post in another section about what hardware we use, jim asked me post here about why I use sage tv instead of mc 13 for tv and capture.
First ill say if I could use MC for live tv and capture I'd do it in a second, I love the way it works and while I'm sure its not perfect, I've found J Rriver to be the most responsive and attentive developer I've ever worked with.
Unfortunately...
I use the Hauppauge HDPVR to capture HD content off directv and MC13 dosent support it. As its really the only device that does this right now(or 3 months ago when i purchased the system), and it is the devce I purchased to do this, im kinda stuck with that part of the solution.
With that in mind, sage tv has by far the best support for that device, AND (Huge Plus) thay have a plug in that lets me browse mc 13s database on thier dedicated media extender (hd theater 200). that device in itself is really awesome and has a high family usability factor (WAF).
So all in all, im probably not the guy you want to focus on winning back (unfortunately) . Just know I love your product and company, but specifics of hardware dictate my current usage.
