Feature Request: Last Five Actions selection
« on: June 18, 2010, 06:58:50 pm »

When tagging items, i usually perform three or four of the same things.  Copy/Paste album art, number tracks in list order, locate on disk external.

The top item on the right click of a song shows the last selected item.  It would be great if that list could have the last 5 selected items.  Would reduce drilling through the menus quite a bit.

You can set this here:
Options > Tree & View > Right click recent recent command

But, thanks to you, anyone who searches for "last five actions" will now find this topic. ;)

Don't forget the Options window has a search box. A search for any of the words in "right click recent command count" would have found the setting.

Considering how useless the forum and wiki search facilities are, this is often the best search to do first. And it may not be a meaningful example, but forum and wiki searches actually produce valid hits using "recent command count."

awesome - great tip about searching for functions.

i wouldnt consider the forum and wiki useless, i found this info didn't I?  :)

having had jobs driving software development, i'm keenly aware that keeping user manuals current and accurately indexed is a tedious and time consuming effort that routinely gets lower priority, and in MC's case especially since there is the forum as the back-up.

I took the OP to mean something like Adobe Actions, where a group of sequential operations (Actions) could be run with 1 mouse click. That would be a powerful feature with various user configurable presets.

You can already do that to a reasonable extent with an autohotkey script like selecting menu items to open dialogs then setting options in them and clicking various buttons can be reduced to just one click.

Huh? I can?  :P

Guess there is some homework needed to do this, thanks.
