Windows 7 taskbar support
« on: July 02, 2010, 01:29:57 pm »

One feature I have liked about Media Center for older versions of Windows was the ability to right-click on the media player icon in the taskbar have controls to select (next, back, pause, play, stop).

This is gone in Windows 7, which by default only shows recently opened files. You can modify this. For instance, Office 2010 allows you to create new emails, tasks, etc from that menu. Windows Media Player can also select "play, stop, next, back" from that menu.

It would be nice if some use would be made of this taskbar feature, but the basic player controls are already available—on hover.

Assuming a "recent" list would logically show recently played items, what would would you expect to see there? I suppose it could be a recently played list, plus a list of the next x items in Playing Now. A list of playlists would also be handy—especially for launching the program.

wow, I guess your interface for the hover was so slick I didn't even notice it! no, that's all I wanted. Thanks. I agree, a recent list would not be helpful and would just clutter up the view.

nevermind, thanks!

I think it would be great to be able to pin playlists.
