Syncng my iPod using MC14 doesn't "see" the files AND my iPod requires Itunes 9

Bought my new iPod 8GB Nano in April, didn't know about the trouble withsyncing.  Now I can't update my iPod using MC14 - have to use bloody iTunes 9.0.  I've gone through the forum, tried the various fixes but to no avail.  Is there anyone who can help out of this god-awful mess?

You could install Rockbox on it.

Thanks for the tip Jim - unfortunately it seems that Rockbox has only done its stuff for 1g and 2g nanos (unless I'm missing something).
