recording a WMA stream with the scheduler plug-in
« on: October 04, 2010, 04:47:01 pm »

I've just purchased a licence for MC15 as it is by far the most powerful media program I've seen and I appreciate the work of the developers and this great community.
Nonetheless I've been unable to record a windows media audio stream from an internet radio station - both by opening the url and trying to save as well as through the Scheduler plug-in.
Could that be caused by the codec of the stream? I've been unable to find any related post in the forum, and the information about the Scheduler plug in within the wiki is very scare.

Thanks for your help!

Could you provide the URL you're using so that we could test?

Thanks.

I wanted to follow-up on this.

The recording system will work best with MP3 streams.

We're able to record some ASF / WMA streams, but not all.  Unfortunately this is a case where we're unable to record.  I think that server may look at the user agent and return HTML instead of a stream for our user agent string.

You might check to see if the station offers MP3 streaming.
