I think this would make a lot of people happy.

However, I use my own RATING field called, imaginatively enough, 'My Rating'.  So I'd like to see an expression along the lines of

average([my rating],[artist],[album])
total([artist],[album])

Or something like that.  Essentially a way to create an average/total count from ANY field but with the ability to filter it down to specific albums etc.

Right now I generate my own album ratings by exporting the database, doing some calcs, and the reimporting on a weekly basis.  Would be great to have functionality within MC.

i agree, mark, that that would be even nicer. but i thought since these are already available:
6.7.5 AlbumKey(...): Returns a unique album key for a file
6.7.6 AlbumArtist(...): Returns the calculated album artist for a file
6.7.7 AlbumType(...): Returns the album type for a file
that it would be a nice first step.
