Album View
« on: October 21, 2010, 08:30:33 pm »

I have noticed that when selecting "Albums", the view shows me many entries for albums that have various artists. How do I get the library to display only one album regardless of the number of artists?

I just noted that Theater displays multi-artist albums as one album.

I noticed that this problem is not consistant within my library and may have figured out how to solve the issue.  Some multi-artist albums display correctly and some don't.  The difference between the two is that in those that display correctly, the tag for Album Artist and Album Artist (Auto) shows 'Various Artists'.  Those that display incorrectly have the individual artists' name in the tag.

Changing the tage to 'Various Artists' in those that display incorrectly solves the display problem.

You do not need to do this.

Set the artist name to each artist.  Album Artist (auto) will then be filled in with "(Multiple Artists)" automatically.

If you want to have a certain album that is primarily a single artist (for example, a soundtrack that includes one or two songs by other artists), set "Album Artist".

You can set your views to show a single album's thumbnail.
