Last night I got my old Jaguar running again. It's been a couple of years since I drove it last so it had a few cobwebs.
My first trip was to the gas station to put some air in the tires and buy more brake fluid and oil. Antifreeze too.

After about 20 minutes of driving, it began to recover its old oomph. It was a lot of fun.
More pictures
from a couple years ago when it was cleaner.

Nice car. I always liked the older Jaguars.
I used to have a 1957 Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe. It was I nice car before I got it. I was too young at the time and destroyed it.

Wow!
It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.
Old Jags are sweet. Newer ones.... Well, to quote William Gibson: "never trust the British to build anything larger or more complicated than a hat if you want it to work properly." Same goes for GM, frankly.

Mmm Jag has been a Ford company since '89 and sinice then have been sharing alot of parts between the platforms they really lost the plot adopting the Taurus? Platform (the whole world car thing) last decade IMHO. Lets see how Tata goes as the new owners.

That was mostly a joke. William Gibson
was
actually referring to Jaguar in that quote (though not to a car, an airship or a tank-like vehicle, I believe).

Love that style of car from that era.
We had a 1963 Bentley when I was a kid... it's been one of my all time favorite cars ever since. So much so I got a '61 and '62 for my wedding cars.
