is there a less-severe workaround than Clear Library?

Anyone, please? I frequently need to reimport my library to refresh it with external changes to M3U playlists (and addition/deletion of tracks) but the following bugs prang this:

Currently the only workaround I have is Clear or Add Library. If anyone can suggest a less-severe workaround, please do.
