First, hello.
So, I'm still in the demo period, and there's 2 things I can't get working. One is pretty straight-forward; I can't get the mini view to stay 'always on top.' I have tried changing skins, and I've tried installing MC14 to see if it works there, and I'm not getting anywhere. I hope it's just an option box I haven't ticked.
The other problem is a bit stranger. With MC15, but not with MC14, I get cascading JScript errors whenever I change the skin of the mini view. I get the same error 8 times, but if I click thru, eventually the skin loads. Doesn't matter which mini view skin I'm changing to. If I'm not using the default skin, I also get a single JScript error when I toggle back to standard view.
System is a relatively clean XP 32-bit install, not much installed that seems like it could interfere with MC. (I'm using the Z skin in standard view, have tried others, doesn't seem to matter.)
Piling on, 2 other questions:
1. Is it possible to make key commands operate system-wide? If I could set ctrl>- to work as volume key whether MC has focus or not, this would make the always-on-top issue less important. (I don't actually need to see the transport, but I'd like to be able to pause or adjust volume quickly even when MC doesn't have focus.)
2. I just put thousands of .flac files on this computer, and I've discovered that 60 of the files got messed up. Specifically, the files were duplicated, the original got a .wav extension, and the newly-created file got a name of random letters. (For instance, song.flac became song.wav AND ajksldf.flac.) The tag information stuck to the .wav file -- which is odd, thought .wav files couldn't be tagged, but I guess I'm wrong. The new file has no tag info - artist, year etc - but the title only is recognized by MC. (Continuing my example, if I play ajksldf.flac, MC knows the name of the song, but doesn't know the artist, year, etc.) I have no idea if MC did this duplication and renaming, but if anybody has any insight, I'd appreciate it. I'm also not sure how to fix it.
Apologies for the long string of questions. Thanks a lot.
