Which is better for Media Jukebox 8.x - W2K or XP?
« on: June 11, 2002, 02:18:41 pm »

I'm getting a new computer and it comes with Windows XP installed. I'm wondering whether to keep it and go through the hassel of learning a new OS, or wipe it clean and install old dependable Windows 2000 Professional.  I've been having good results with W2K.  Is there any advantage of moving on to XP?  Any drawbacks?

My VAIO notebook has W2K on it and its main purpose is to play music with MJ8.  Should I try the upgrade to XP, or leave well enough alone?

As far as MJ goes, does it work better (less trouble with crashes, drivers, API's) with any one version of Windows than another?

I think Win2000 and WinXP are similar in stability.  More a matter of particular hardware after that.

I've owned several VAIO's (and loved them) and I've never tried to change the OS.  I wouldn't take the chance.
