FileAssociations.xml and media type
« on: January 27, 2011, 12:29:48 am »

When i add file types to my custom resources FileAssociations.xml i can't figure out how to set the media type.

I added a file type called .bluray that i want to show up under video but i can't get it to.
When imported, its media type is always data.
I don't want to change the media type to video every time i import one.

When i added bdmv it showed up under video. This doesn't help me because i don't use bdmv. It was only a test.

It appears that i have no control over the media type. Is this the case?

Does anyone know how to make my .bluray files import as video?

Thanks

Just add it to the list. The screen shot illustrates all I did to add a "VLC" video type. You don't have to use an XML editor—it just make it easier to understand the file structure.
