I often have a problem where Media Center hang at 25% CPU (I have a quad core) after a network state change on my laptop. This happen with MC and Media Server service. I have waited for multiple hours but the process keep it's usage.

Examples :
  • I have a network cable connected and running an instance of MC (server or app). Then I connect through wireless and unplug the wire. MC still work(able to play music) but the process hang at 25% CPU.
  • I am running MC, I then put my laptop on sleep. When waking up the process hang at 25% CPU time.

What have you tried to get MC to stop looking for the *lost* network connection?
Stopping the behavior could be as simple as pressing f5 but then again maybe not.

If you're using last.fm, try turning off scrobbling.

Do you have anything folders listed under "Options | Auto-import folders"?

@muchadhesion : Exactly what it was. Strange the thread you provided wasn't shown in the search results when I searched the forum. I guess my search query was wrong. It was exactly my case where my library is on a NAS. Disabling the "auto-import in the background" seem to have fixed the problem. I was quite sure it was disabled before... maybe re-enabled after an update or maybe it was in MC14. Anyway thanks a bunch.

@JimH: Last.fm scrobbling was disabled. But thx tho.
