Windows 7 64 bit and MC 15, cannot install

MC 15 was running VERY SLOWLY on my 64 bit windows 7 system.  I ran the compatibility checker and it said XP SP 2, I changed to SP3 thinking it was wrong and now cannot install at all-get a message the the version running is for the wrong OS-re-install which I CANNOT DO......

Welcome to Interact.

You should not use compatibility mode with Media Center.  It will just cause troubles.

Media Center fully supports Windows 7.  We develop and test on it.

If you're stuck, uninstall, reboot, and reinstall (not using any compatibility layers).

I uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed and am still getting the message that the program was installed on a different operating system

Fixed it!!  Turned off compatibility mode in the program properties and it ran....
