I assume you are talking about dvd rips.
When you rip a dvd a video_ts folder is created. In his folder there is a file called VIDEO_TS.IFO.
This is what MC imports, and it contains all info necessary for playback.
It has the same name for every dvd making them get pulled into one big pot.
You can separate them by adding tags.
Here is how I add my tags.
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=56096.0It may be more complicated than you need.
A simple way for you to tag dvd rips is to put each video_ts folder in another folder that is named after the movie title.
Then put all these folders into a folder named after their genre. ie movies, music, etc.
Import them into MC
Then select all dvd rips in MC, right click, choose fill properties from filename.
Paste this into the first text box without quotes "[Genre]\[Name]\VIDEO_TS", and leave the second text box unchecked.
An example of folder structure:
Video\Music\Muse - Hullabaloo\VIDEO_TS
Video\Movie\Pandorum\VIDEO_TS
Video\Documentary\Zeitgeist\VIDEO_TS
Make sure your video view has genre and name in it.
This simple way will work well for a small amount of movies but as soon as you start
mixing TV series with Music and DVD rips with avi's things get more complicated.
This is where my guide in the link comes in.
There are also other ways to tag videos with plugins and xml files and online databases.
I know nothing about these.
