Movies sound stuck at 48hz
« on: April 18, 2011, 01:22:10 pm »

Music in MC16 is set to 192/24 and the DAC likes this, but in control panel the HDMI can not be set beyond 48/24 even though the motherboard, HDMI out (via graphic card) and AV amp all support way beyond that.

Also note that the machine will not play Bluerays via other programmes ie PowerDVD10, yet everything is HTPC compliant including the TV..

Any advice please ? thanks

I'm not clear if your DAC and HDMI are the same or different.

Media Center uses the same audio engine for audio and video, so if you can play audio at 192 KHz, you should be able to play video to the same output at 192 KHz.

If you're describing different outputs, and one doesn't work, I'd try updating drivers for the one that isn't working.
