Theatre View Questions
« on: May 14, 2011, 07:44:10 am »

I am trying to get a THeatre View Setup, and I have a couple of questions:

1. When I am not playing anything, and rummaging around the menus, the background is some sort of painting, can i change this?

2. How do i set up so i can change zones in Theatre View

1,  In Options/Theater View, take a look at themes.

2.  Playing Now

I see this too. I like the backgrounds and backdrops, but it seems like the Theme is broken when entering Videos. There used to be a backdrop of a Movie Theater or a Movie ticket. Now it just show the Painting from the Root level. Entering Audio still works as before.

Themes can be disabled all together under Options -> Theaterview -> Apperance. I think that will disable the Online Media Slideshow as well.

Themes has been broken since way back in Ver15.

Since then, I just run a video as background.

It has been working fine here until 16.0.81. Now the background stays the same when I enter Videos\Movies.

Where I would expect...

or...

as the background.

Thanks for a fast reply, as for question 1, i had embarrassingly not noticed that the icon by themes was the type where you got new options while clicking on it.

As for question 2, I screwed up once again. I meant changing libraries, not zones

As a note, i also have the problem with the background not changing in "Videos"

Here is how to make the background images work the way they used to.

Navigate to JR's install directory.  Probably something like C:/Program Files/J River/Media Center 16

Then you need to navigate deeper to where these images are.  So from the above directory go to Skins/Theater View/Themes/Default

There will be a list of folders named Audio, Images, News, etc. and there will be some images like Van Gogh - Filed.  It should look similar to this:

The images in this directory are the images that appear on the main screen in theater view.  If you want to remove the paintings and/or add new images then just delete the Van Gogh pictures or just add whatever images you want here.

Now to make the images work in Movies, TV shows or whatever.  You need to make sure you have a folder that corresponds to "Items To Show" in the Theater View options.  This is what mine looks like.

So if I add a folder named "Movies" in the above directory any image I add to that folder will be shown as a backdrop when I am viewing my movies. If I add a folder named "TV Shows" any image in that folder will be displayed when I view my TV shows, etc. etc.

So after adding a folder for movies and TV Shows my directory would now look like this

Hope that helps.

The stock Theme will be updated for the new layout in a coming build.
