no automatic sound switch by AV receiver
« on: June 10, 2011, 01:50:42 pm »

HI,
I want to use MC15 to play movies with surround sound (Dolby D, DTS etc)
my AV receiver does not switch to the required sound.
when I play the same movies with VLC player it does.
info:
HTPC connected to receiver - receiver connected to TV
different channels used for playing music and playing movies
AV receiver ONKYO TX-NR1007
MC 15.0.174
connection for music:
via optical connection from seperate sound card
MC setting "digital audio (s/pdif) sound blaster x-fi extreme audio" default channels
direct sound
connection for video and sound:
via HDMI connection from graphical card
playback device: AMD HDMI output (AMD high definition audio device)
digital connection to a surround receiver (supports AC3 and DTS)
movies:
AVI-MKV-MP4
I tested all different file types

do I have to use additional settings within MC?
I posted it under MC16 because I don't get an answer on my request at MC15

thanks

Please try 16.0.105 (from the top of this board).  I think the new Red October will help you.

Test with both "PCM" and "Bitstream" options under Options > Video.

installed 16.0.110 and sound problem resolved.
BUT: I've no subtitles anymore
.srt files + setting DirectVobSub (auto loading)
spoken language original to movie, subtitles Dutch (Belgium)
can you help again, is this a bug?

thanks
