Feature add: pause playback on workstation lock
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:42:27 am »

Hello everyone! Just found this awesome player yesterday and I'm already in love.

One thing I would like to request the capability to do would be to pause playback of audio (maybe video too?) when I lock my Windows 7 workstation. I am used to playing music from my Zune and I just lock the workstation, pause the Zune and walk away. Now that I have a player that renders some amazing audio, I am thinking I would like to start listening from an external drive but I'm not very good at actually opening the application and pausing it when I lock the workstation.

It may be a feature that exists in the application already and I just can't find it, but I'm not seeing it.

Thanks everyone!

You can use the Windows Task Scheduler for this.

1. Launch Task Scheduler:

2. Create a new Task:

3. Name the Task:

4. Create the new Trigger

5. Set Trigger to "On workstation lock"

6. Set Action to start a new program, mc16.exe

7. Add arguments to set pause mode  (i.e. /MCC 10022,1)

8. Test the task with Run or Windows-L keyboard combo.

That's... simply awesome! I didn't realize you could use all of the commands that way. I'm going to look through them and see if there's anything else I'd want to setup.

THANK YOU!! ;)

You're welcome.  The command line commands and the MCC commands are listed here:

They are items 3 and 4.
