Hi, Can yanyone help?

Running 8.0.399 on XP.
Downloading PDA pul-in (hh_pda.dll) from the web, get an error 126 failed to regester. Same if I try and do it manually (loading .dll from plug-in manager)
At a loss.

I am trying to use a Palm, if its not compatible let me know and I'll stop trying!

Was it a version 8 or a version 9 plug-in?  You need version 8.

and I do have administrative rights on the PC.

But have also tried going into plug-in manager and clicking on the .dll there.

I am not sure why this is not working for you, I can successfully download that Plugin from multiple PCs.

Anyway, here is a solution that should work. Try doing "Save Target As" on teh MJ 8 Plugin for PDA. Save it somewhere on your PC. Open the .mjp file with Notepad and go to the URL you see listed. Save the Zip file at the URL to the same directory as the mjp file. Double click the mjp and it should install the necessary files for you.

Thanks for that, but no Joy.

Put them both in the route of C:\

But the MJP just looks to the URL and downloads as before. Tried changing from Http://...zip  to C:\...zip

But just said invalid MJP package...
Any other ideas? Do i need to make more changes to the MJP file?

Can you unzip the  hh_pda.zip file and then copy the hh_pda.dll file to your MJ Plugins directory. After you copy the file, then regsiter it using regsvr32 by going to Start-> Run and type the following (or something similar as is appropriate for your system)......

regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\J River\Media Jukebox\Plugins\hh_pda.dll"

Have tried this with and without " " and in Run and DOS, error: LoadLibrary failed: specified module not found.

The have triple checked the path, correct as you wrote.. no joy. Have tried loading other plug ins for handhelds.. all work fine!

Should I re:install MJ8?
Should I install another hh_...dll and change the name in regedit? (can you tell I don't know what I'm doing?)

What I ment by installing in plug-in manager, is that it lets you 'add plugin' and takes you to the plugin directory, where you can click on the .dll's there. Same problem - failed to regester.

Have you installed Microsoft's ActiveSync?

If not, this is the problem. ActiveSync is necessary for your PC to recognize a CE device. Our plugin will not install without it and I have presumed that you have it installed. If I was incorrect, please get it and you will be all set.

I think we may have something, I'm using a Palm os device, and so use hotsync.

I assume that the plug in is not compatible with Palm?
I assume I can't use Active Sync with Palm??

The plug in is just called PDA...

Sorry for the confusion. The PDA plugin is not compatible with Palm OS. We may support these in the future but nothing right now.
