DLNA-> Onkyo?
« on: July 17, 2011, 06:27:26 am »

I am certain that I had been able to see my Onkyo TX-NR3007 in JRM15. But now that I actually want to try to play through it direct via DLNA, I seem unable to see it in JRM.

I looked at the docs in the WIKI and all settings are right. But I do not see it in PLaying Now. Nor anywhere else.

Although at my Onkyo, I do see the JRM DLNA per the settings I did in Options/Media Network/Library server. But I want to play from JRM to the ONkyo, not use the small ONkyo screen to browse the JRM files.

Any suggestions?

In this case, the Onkyo is a DLNA Renderer (playback device).  You're asking to send it content, but not all Renderers can be controlled.  Our wiki article on DLNA explains a little more.

When you post again, please say which version you're now using.  We assume MC15 on this board.

The Media Network board here also has more information on DLNA.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I just finished getting it working. Something was screwy on the Onkyo. I had to completely unplug it, and plug it back in for a reset, and now I can play.

I am left with one other question: Can I set it to play to the Onkyo by default? The instructions in the WIKI say to drag files to it.

In answer to your questions: Yes, I am on v15

If it shows up in Playing Now, you can select it by clicking on it.  After that, anything you play should play on the Onkyo.
