Author Topic: Question: What does MC do with it's files during MP3 conversion from network  (Read 823 times)

Morning,

My main lossless library is stored on a WHS 2011 server and yesterday - I did a huge conversion on several thousand files to MP3 for mobile use on my iPod.

So this morning - on my way into work on the bus - I checked out some of the new stuff and noticed many of the tracks are suffering from dropouts. Like glitches occurring during conversion.

So - my question is - does MC do anything with the source file located on the server (like copy locally?) before conversion or is it actually converting the file on the server (creating it's temp files out there) and then sending the MP3 result over the network back to the iPod?

NOTE: I load my files directly to the iPod with no local workstation storage (I do not want the clutter of duplicates on my local drive).

With all the glitches - it now seems I have wasted several hours in conversion time since I am certain I will find problems everywhere in the new batch of files.

Curious to hear how others are doing this.

Cheers,

VP
