I paid $24.98 and can't activate Media Jukebox 7

On 1/1/2002 you guys charged my Credit Card for MJ7. Everything was fine until I had to re-download on a new hard drive. The license will not reactivate and I see no files in there that will do it when I try to do so. Since you no longer have a database with your customers that allow people who pay you money to do such things what am I suppose to do pay you again? I think not. Please advise.

I am in the same situation.  You would think that JRiver would like to have good reviews about their products.  Customer support is one of the areas that this company is definitely lacking in.

FWIW, I have contacted JRiver twice about reg/license issues, and both times, I was contacted within at most a few hours. Perhaps with today being a holiday, they're eating burgers and whatnot?  Still, having said that, I encountered some frustration when I first tried to register (a number of months ago) because of a firewall issue. Hit another minor snag when I tried to restore my license via the web site. Both were resolved, and resolved quickly - *but* I really believe that once you've converted a trial customer to a paying customer, you certainly shouldn't have *any* registration or licensing snags get in the way. If the process is so secure that it's likely to produce technical snags, that's as bad or worse than having a less secure system. IMO, I am much more likely to register a product when I feel it's easy, and when restoration is easy.

Version 7 licenses are not replaceable.  E-mail sent with the licenses urges you to back them up.

Version 8, which is about to be released, has a replaceable license.  It can be restored from our servers without contacting us.

We would like you to be happy, but we don't protect you against loss of a version 7 license.
