conductors are lost
« on: August 07, 2011, 09:28:43 am »

hallo,
I am  ripping and encoding my classic CD collection with dbpoweramp and Flac with all TAGs.
By using the Media Center 150174 all the TAGs are shown in the bar, including the conductor.
But in the following rows the <conductor> are missing.
If the search are used, the conductors are found.
Why are the <conductors> are not shown in the corresponding lines?
Whats going wrong?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi Kalli, and Welcome.

It sounds like you are saying that you see the tags in the Tag Action Window, but not the tags in a panes or file list view.

If you are talking about having no Column showing you the Conductor tag, you can add a new column by right clicking on the column header.  If you add it to the Panes are on top, it will allow you to filter your choices based on this tag.

If you add it to the bottom Files area, MC will display this tag for the tracks.

Hi MrC ,
and thank for your warm welcome,
sorry for my indistinct description of the problem.

In the column header the Conductor are already installed, but down in the area of the tracks we
can not see the corresponding names.
But they are existing in the Tags.

Thank you very much for your help.

Are you usine a Panes view? The window where the tracks are displyed can be modified to show what you want by right clicking the column header and putting a check next to conductor.

Hi  kensn ,

my problem is this:

In the list view of the tracks  only the existing column of the Conductor are not filled with the names.

To delete and reinstall the Conductor-column changed nothing.

So what is going wrong ?

Thanks to you all

Hi,

in addition:  yes we are talking about the pane view.

In the information center on the left side down, the Conductor are empty too.

Thanks

Left Center Down....  If this is the Tag window and your conductor is not showing there that is the problem. These are the Tag values that MC16 uses. The conductor tags you are seeing mmay not be mapped to the same field MC is looking at. Try to fill one of the Coductors in the Tag window and see if it shows up in the column..

Hi Ken,

yes, I can fill the Conductor in the Tag window and its shown in the column of the tracks. For one or otherwise for all tracks.

But whats with your idea of the MC16?
For some days the test MC16 are running on the PC in the last days and should be deleted completely now.
Now the MC15 are in use.

May be here are the solution? What way?

Thank you

I am sorry, I forgot you were using MC15. If you can see the conducter in the column after seting the tag, then the tags from the sfotware you are using to rip the CDs are not being read by the correct fields in MC15.

If you can determine the Tag that your software is using to store the Conductor you can try this.. Right click one of your tracks and select LIBRARY TOOLS - MOVE / COPY FIELDS. Copy the field the conductor is in from your ripping software to the Conducor field that MC uses.

Were the conductor showing correctly before?

Oh Ken,
hopeful, but wrong in the moment.

The ripping software are telling the correct fields, like we can see in the Windows-Explorer/propertys.
All those fields are correct moved to the MC15, except the Conductor (for excample Karajan).
Looking to the Tag files in the MC15, we can see all fields filled correctly. But there are only one empty field:
Conductor ! And we cann't move the Conductor(Karajan) from any other field, because Karajan not there.

Whats going on ?
Thanks for today

With one of your tracks selected, In the Tag Window Right Click and select Show All Tags. See if the Conducter is in any Tag. You may have a problem similar to this...

The tag name must match exactly.

conducter, conductor, for example.

Kalli,

Try looking at the physical tags, as MC sees them.  Here's the way to do it.  In my example, I'm showing a FLAC file, but the concept is the same regardless of file type.

Maybe you can share a screenshot if necessary.

Hi,

Oh yea, we got it !

In the physical tags as MC sees them, we found that the Conductor and the Conducter are called Performer !
So we took a user defined field with the function tag(Performer).

Now we can see them in the pane view list.

Thank you very much MrC, Ken and Jim. Every idea has been one more step to our conclusion.
We learned a lot.

By and good luck for you
