Suggestions for Digital Cable Tuner in MC16
« on: September 03, 2011, 08:19:47 pm »

Thanks to Comcast and their horrible security, my current tuner in my htpc picks up a blistering 17 channels. I'm looking to redo the living room, and make the pc a more dedicated part of my setup for ease of use. Currently we have 200 of our kids movies stored on the computer running mc16. It's great to not have a million dvd's lying around with the kids.

So now I want to pull my tv into it, but I need a tuner with a cable card. My first choice is the Ceton 4 tuner card, but it looks like it's not supported by JRiver. So... what would everyone suggest I use??

Check out Windows Media Center. I am running it with the Ceton Card. It's awesome.

I use MCE for video content and MC for audio distribution throughout the house.

I'll second Gagetboy's comment.  Once I tried my Ceton with WMC I could never go back to a DVR.
