use VERY fresh eggs and it will be much easier to peel/crack.

>> use VERY fresh eggs
I heard that, so I bought new eggs, and this morning I tried again using a bit lighter hand.

I used a Serrated bread slicing knife Once it is scored and the knife brakes Thu the egg it is then easy to brake the egg along the scored line.

I've seen people who do it a lot better than I can use a spoon and lightly tap a line of small breaks around the top, then lift the top off neatly.  Their grammar and diction were also a lot better than mine.

I actually Have A Stainless Steel Egg Topper

But that does not give you a clean un-cracked egg shell like you can get with a knife. There are some videos on how to do this that I watched before my last attempt and they helped.

soft boiled eggs are weak anyway..... just do a soft poach.  MUCH easier and tastier.
