I can't seem to get this field to display all its eligible values (via drop-down) once 50 (I think) entries are made.  Bug?

Definitely a bug in the stock field.  I created my own "Soloists" field and it works fine, displaying all the entries.

This is by design.  There's a cap after which point the values aren't in the Action Window > Tag list.  A list of 100's or 1000's isn't helpful.

Typing offers auto-complete.  Or use the dropdown arrow for the full list.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I had no idea... especially when my user-created field behaved differently.  Now I know.

If it helps you understand why it switches modes, I've seen list-fields with around 100,000 choices in user library backups.  You can imagine how helpful it is to have a list of 100,000 items with checkboxes you can scroll and check!

So the control switches modes when there are a lot of choices (more than fit on a screen or two).  The auto-complete should work nicely, including if you use path-style values with slashes in them, for these cases.
