Sorting Child View Scheme Lists
« on: November 02, 2011, 12:23:12 am »

How does one sort child view schemes? I have a list of 12 child views under 'Audio', for instance, and I would like to be able to arrange them in any particular manner, either alphabetical or drag them around into a specific order.  I tested adding new child library views with various names and they seem to get placed on the list in a partially alphabetical manner, at least relative to themselves as they are added by not relative to the existing entries, if that makes sense. I cannot find a setting to make the list strictly alphabetical or that would allow one to move the views around (and I did read the wiki). Thanks in advance.

I think you have to use some numbering in the view names if you want them sorted in a particular order.
For instance:

1.Genres
2.File Structure
3.Types
4.Dates

Right! Never noticed that one. Don't have to use numbering then :)

That worked fine. My mistake was assuming that in 'Customize Views' that 'Tree Position' set to 'Automatic' would make an alphabetical (or numerical) ordered list. Rather, setting it to 'Top' does the trick. (I swear I searched the wiki but must have missed it.)  Many thanks.

It's not certain it's in the wiki. Maintaining a up to date wiki in such an evolving application would be troublesome to say it least.

Is a definitive repository of commands and settings maintained somewhere that we have access to?
